Allure of Kalamkari!

Lately , I have been noticing many of the bloggers or fashion designers wearing outfits with tradional prints on them. I myself have many dupattas,Kurtis with such prints and I wasn’t even knowing it’s Kalamkari art. It’s one such beautiful form of a craft from Andhra Pradesh which involves free hand drawing. They use natural dyes on cotton or silk material and bring out such enthralling garments. Still whenever I see clothes with Kalamkari art, I end buying that and I’m also pretty sure many of you have atleast one such garment and never was aware about it.

Kalamkari has been so in trend and some very popular Indian fashion Designers showcased their Kalamkari collections. From crop tops to sarees,it looks flawless.

My sister bought me this simple Kalamkari silk saree from Andhra. I was in love with it and wanted to style it badly. I just picked but a crop t-shirt and drapped it in pants style with jeans inside. Why drape your saree in the same old way and go a little chicer than usual. It’s quite easy and Start by pleating one end of the saree as you would want to drape it, pinning it up with a pin and tucking them into your pants at the center. The other end of the saree can be draped as a chunni across the shoulders in various ways. When that is done, here’s where you play with the draping and the pleats to create various looks that enhance your looks.Flaunt your curves with a belt at your waistline or mid waistline.Go for minimal jewellery, strappy heels and sultryeye make up is must.
